The Farms of the Future Program is now accepting grant applications from eligible agricultural businesses. The program aims to facilitate tech-enabled production and monitoring through improved connectivity and the installation of sensor equipment, supporting increased productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable use of resources in the selected agricultural sectors of Cotton, Livestock (sheep and beef), Grains, and Horticultural (tree crops and vines). Schedule-it, as a Program Partner, offers distinct software combined with IoT sensor packages and specialized irrigation scheduling services and support through the Farms of the Future program.

Applicants can apply for funding of 70% of the cost of eligible purchases of approved Agtech, including Ag IoT devices, connectivity solutions, and device data integration dashboards, up to a maximum of $35,000 (excluding GST) per eligible applicant. The grant contributions for connectivity solutions are subject to a specific cap of $15,000 within the overall program cap. Grant applications must be for a minimum of $5,000 and the subscription costs for apps and devices until the end of the program, 30 June 2025, can be included in the grant amount.

To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be located in one of the designated LGAs, hold a valid ABN, and receive at least $40,000 in income from primary production per annum or operate a bona fide primary production enterprise. The eligible LGAs for this program include Armidale, Ballina, Byron, Cabonne, Carrathool, Griffith, Leeton, Lismore, Moree Plains, Narrabri, and Orange.
